As you may know, our museum has a complete set of Ferndale High School yearbooks from 1921 until 2023. The evolution of Ferndale High School yearbooks is shown below:

The Lincolnian - was the high school newsletter which served as a yearbook for many years starting 1921. It also shared news, events, and high school life. The museum has copies from 1921-1950s.

The President - Ferndale's high school yearbook in the same format we think of today. It ran from 1928 until 1939. The museum has at least one copy of each.

The Log - ran from 1940-1958 as Ferndale's high school yearbook. The museum has at least one copy of each.

The Alpha - ran only in 1959 as Ferndale's high school yearbook. The museum has several copies.

The Talon - started in 1960 with the first full year in the new high school. Talon is the current name of Ferndale's high school yearbook. The museum has at least one copy of each year.

NOTE: Classes were so large by the late 1930s into the 1940s that many years had two groups of graduates and two yearbooks/supplements. Typically one in January and one in June.

That is 100+ years of “Lincolnians”, “Presidents”, Logs”, an “Alpha”, & many “Talons”. So far that is 125 books because some years had 2 yearbooks - one for the January & and one for the June graduating class!

We have scanned the 'general interest' areas of many yearbooks to share the advertising and major school events over the years. These can be found on the Member's page HERE.

The Ferndale Library has yearbooks from 1959 until now. They are open more days/hours than the museum if you prefer to browse their yearbooks! Their website is HERE

If you are doing family research, yearbooks can offer photos and more about your family members. Be sure to read our home history website for other sources of family history HERE. If you need help in your quest please contact the museum directly by email and a volunteer will try to help.
